UFC is an acronym for "Ultimate Fighting Championship" which is the world's largest, oldest, and most popular combat sport brand. The UFC is a multi-billion dollar global MMA fight league with revenue streams from mixed martial fights and pay per view events around the world. The company also earns significant money from its very popular "Ultimate Fighter" tv reality show, UFC video games, UFC merchandise, UFC MMA gym franchise, and from its roster of 100s of the planet's best combat sports fighter athlete personalities.

The UFC became popular after its first event UFC #1 in McNichols Sports Arena in Denver, Colorado, on November 12, 1993. Dozens of martial artists spanning the broad spectrum of fighting disciplines including boxing, judo, karate, sumo, wrestling, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu were pitted against one another in an 8 sides ring called "The Octagon". Royce Gracie, a young and skinny Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) athlete ended up stealing the show and winning the entire tournament. Royce quickly became a martial arts legend and his performance of defeating many much larger and stronger athletes with an elegant display of submission grappling started a new era for UFC which eventually surpassed boxing to become one of the worlds fastest growing and most popular sports.

The UFC is headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada in the USA. The most famous person in the history of the UFC is the promoter and CEO Dana White. Dana White has worked for over 20 years to grow the sport from almost nothing into a multi billion dollar global enterprise. In early 2020 during the world's Coronavirus & Covid-19 pandemic lockdown, much of the world's public sporting events came to an immediate halt. Dana White released news that the show must go on and partnered with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to create "UFC Fight Island" in Abu Dhabi. UFC Fight island is located in the capital city (and emirate) of Abu Dhabi in Arabia and the middle east. In mid 2020 UFC CEO stated “UFC 242 put Abu Dhabi firmly on the map. Now, it is the global fight capital of the world."
